About.

IMG_8390.JPG

Christina is a maker, teacher, collector of skills, flower admirer, and smile enthusiast. She has an affinity for the outdoors, and invests in bringing that out in her own artwork. Her ceramic installations are also heavily focused on a display of the process.

Growing up in a large Italian family, most memories involve everyone sitting around the table, with a plate (or bowl) of food as the centerpiece. A plate is the canvas for food; the surface is just as important as what goes on it. Christina strives to enhance a person’s food experience by crafting tailored functional wares that accentuate the object/s they are holding.

During Christina’s experience teaching at Renaissance Public School Academy, she embraced the Project Based Learning pedagogy of the school, and would often be seen collaborating with other teachers to bring in elements of what they were teaching at the time into the art classroom. Christina firmly believes in this holistic approach to teaching, were the most natural way of learning is through a well designed project, that brings together several disciplines.

She can be reached at christinazardus@gmail.com and would love to hear from you.
